Ofelia's father was a tailor for Captain Vidal as he sewed and created clothes for Captain Vidal. He was the husband of Ofelia's mother Carmen and was known to be kind and gentlemanly. He was all of a sudden murdered by Captain Vidal in secret and Ofelia and Carmen were told by Captain Vidal that Ofelia's father died because of a justifiable reason. In reality, the father was killed by Captain Vidal for being an "alpha sigma wolf". Leading to Ofelia and Carmen being reluctant to talk about him anymore because it's a painful memory they were to keep under the rug.[]
